New Legal Requirements for
Directors and PSCs
Find out about the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.

Get in touch
From autumn 2025, every company director and Person with Significant Control (PSC) must verify their identity with Companies House.
This is part of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, which aims to prevent the misuse of companies and strengthen
corporate transparency across the UK.

Even if you are a volunteer director of a residential management company, you must comply.

How to Verify Your Identity

There are three ways to verify:
  1. 1. Online via GOV.UK One Login (passport or driving licence) Link not live yet
  2. 2. In person at a UK Post Office (check eligibility first)
  3. 3. Through an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) — typically a solicitor or accountant who is registered with Companies House

Why We Can’t Do It for You

Cleaver Property Management is not an ACSP, so we cannot complete verification for you. The process must be:
  • • Done personally by the director
  • • Or carried out through a professional ACSP of your choice
However, we are here to guide and support you every step of the way.
