Battle Proms at Highclere Castle – 6th August 2016
Every year we like to enjoy a day out with fellow staff members to celebrate the summer!
We decided on going to see the Battle Proms at Highclere Castle in Newbury. Many of our staff members and partners joined us and we were very lucky to experience glorious weather!
For the event we hired a few picnic boxes and outdoor furniture so we were able to all sit round and enjoy the evening together.
To start the day of there was a WW1 Cavalry Display which was perfectly performed. All admiring the horses and riders whilst tucking into cheese and wine!
Secondly we had the fantastic Rockabellas getting us up on our feet, dancing and singing away! Hats off to their great performance and vocals!
Shortly after we could heard the historic and unmistakable sound of the Spitfire engine overhead. One of the highlights of the day it was incredible seeing it’s display in the skies above the castle.
Last thing of the evening was an uplifting celebration of soul-stirring classical favourites performed by the New English Concert Orchestra. Top it all off was a great firework display traditional sing-along proms finale!
The summer event was a complete blast and everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We look forward to the next one!
