It was agreed that the land and parking facilities at Ladywood Grange would be rearranged/extended. The aim being that each property would benefit from its own parking bay.
Of course, there were complications along the way, with the Asphalt company having to remove over 40 tons of soil below the existing road surface, as well as obstructive trees and shrubbery. Some of these trees had TPO’s against them, which meant we had to be very careful about which were tampered with. Instead, it was decided that a car port would be erected over the bays below the protected trees, to protect the cars allocated to those spaces.
It was also decided that the bike store, which was being misused, would be removed to allow for additional space. It was not being used to store bikes, and so the car parking took priority.
Overall, around 70 square metres of new asphalt was eventually laid. The final result extended the car parking by 50%, giving each resident their own allocated bay plus three visitor bays. The bays were marked and a permit scheme introduced with Parking & Property Management.
