We recently supported Growing Places Berkshire’s fundraising concert. Growing Places Berkshire is a small charity local to us who do great work. They raise funds to promote horticultural activities for Adults with Learning Difficulties. These activities are located at The Acorn Centre on Woosehill in Wokingham and in the peaceful setting at Turgis Court Farm near Stratfield Saye. Opportunities are provided for these adults to grow their own vegetables and flowers in their own plots. They learn gardening skills such as sowing seeds, taking cuttings, planting and mowing lawns. They also sow, grow and raise plants for sale at The Acorn Centre and other venues in the region including the Wokingham May Fayre. Funds raised are used to buy more seeds, plugs and equipment.
